Description
This cute sandhill crane was wondering around the grasses of the Villages in Florida. My friend and I were riding around the community in her golf cart, on our way to a pond where "Larry the Gator" hung out, hoping to get a glimpse of him. On our way we spotted this Sandhill Crane. My friend was alarmed when she saw the bird because he was alone. She told me they always travel in pairs. We parked the cart so I could take some pictures of him. While I was taking his picture, another cart came by, and excitingly the women shouted to her husband--"there is Freddie the Crane". So now we know this lovely crane has a name, and we figured his must be out looking for someone to hang with.
