Visited the National Cathedral on a recent trip to Washington, DC. Construction began in September 1907 when Theodore Roosevelt was President and completed 83 years later when the "final Finial" was placed during the term of Pres. George W. Bush, in 1990.
The Cathedral suffered damage during the Virgina earthquake in 2011. The damage was mostly to the outside of the structure, breaking off some of the finial and gargoyles. Not having earthquake insurance, it has been an ongoing financial struggle to repair the Cathedral.
My photographic prints reflect the way I see the world. From an abandoned building to a funny little praying mantis, I see the challenge of capturing the essence of my subject. Some of my photographic prints are straight out of the camera, and others I have added textures to create the mood of how I envision the subject. Sometimes I get really inspired and create a composite print from several of my images. Regardless of the creative path I take, it is all driven from the passion I have for photography.
